"Seven times a day shall I praise you"

The monk strives to attain " continuous prayer ", that is to say continuous attention to God. This continuous prayer is made rhythmic and nourished by several moments of common prayer with all his brothers.

From 04.30 in the morning the monks attend the church to recite the Vigil Service, which dedicates the last hours of the night to God. They go there again at the start of the day for the Lauds (morning worship) and at the end of the day for Vespers (evening worship). Their working day is interrupted by three very short services called tierce, sexte and none.

Finally, they assemble for the last time in the church for prayer, before night, in a service called Compline. They also celebrate the Eucharist every day.

Passing visitors, or lay people who stay for a few days in the monastery hotel, can participate in all the services and the church is always accessible during the day to everyone for individual prayer.
